Preston Fox is a guitarist, composer, and educator from Indianapolis, Indiana, and a proud product of the city’s vibrant jazz scene. He has performed and recorded with world-class artists including Steve Allee, Kenny Phelps, and Sean Imboden.
As a composer and improviser, Preston seeks to honor his Indianapolis roots while drawing from a wide range of influences, including bebop, African American musical traditions, and Baroque and Romantic classical music.
Preston works as a freelance guitarist with experience in theatre pit orchestras, church ensembles, and corporate background music settings. His versatility allows him to perform across a variety of styles, including jazz, classical, country, rock, blues, and banjo.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Studies from Butler University, where he studied with Sandy Williams, Brett Terrell, and Dr. Matthew Pivec. Preston is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Jazz Studies at Michigan State University, where he studies under renowned jazz guitarist Professor Randy Napoleon.
